Thirza Vallois has lived in Paris for over 40 years.She holds several post-graduate degrees from the Sorbonne, including themost prestigious agrégation (doctoral-level teaching qualification). Her Around and About Paris series, have been universally acclaimed as the most authoritative and in-depth travel companion ever written on Paris. Thirza Vallois ploughed through the city's every street, read every book of note about it and never left a stone unturned. Her books were launched and supported by the French Embassy in London and New York. She has since written another book on Paris, Romantic Paris, which was equally well received and a forthcoming book Paris For Children, which combines enlightenment and play. Thirza Vallois is also the author of the Paris Entry to the Encarta Encyclopaedia.Thirza Vallois contributes to television and radio and has appeared on PBS, BBC, The Travel Channel, Discovery, CNN, The French Cultural Channel, among others. She also writes for The Financial Times, United Airlines' Hemispheres, Condé Nast Traveller, among others. She is the author of Three Perfect Days in Paris, aired as a film on all United Airlines international flights and on television throughout the world. The article has won her the first award of NATJA (the North American Travel Journalists' Association). She is now completing a new book on "Aveyron, the last hidden patch of France", to be published in 2006.
