Anne McCarthy profile

Anne McCarthy hails from St. Louis, Missouri. She has been living in Paris for the past 8 months working for an American tourism company.

Anne studied abroad in Paris during a summer in college, and decided that one summer was not enough. Since being here, Anne ran the Paris Marathon—barely finishing, but finishing nonetheless.

She is a member of the Writers Group at Shakespeare and Company bookstore, and she acts as a mentor to the struggling, unknown writer, Stephen Clarke. (Or, vice versa).

Prior to moving to Paris and working in the tourism industry, Anne lived in Chicago. There, she was busy saving the world by working in retail and working as a nanny. Also, she interned at Chicago’s Second City, where she studied comedy writing and improvisational comedy. In college, Anne served as an intern at The Late Show with David Letterman.

Her favorite things about Paris are the restaurant Dernier Metro, picnics on Île St. Louis with friends, pain au raisin pastries, and walking around the Marais. Anne is currently working on a humor memoir about her adventures in Paris with her American friends. The book is titled Big Macs in Paris.
