MO SUSSMAN Started my hospitality journey as a waiter at the great DC Steakhouse “The Palm” Opened my first restaurant in 1979, Joe & Mo’s Steakhouse in DC. If you can imagine the wine lists in American restaurants in 1979. This was just 2 years after the great Paris wine tasting where American Wines won. Chateau Montelena taking first prize in white wine and Stags Leap taking first prize in red wine. French wine heads rolled. (See movie Bottle Shock.) This of course put American wines on the map. I have been in love with the juice of the grape ever since, with great French wines leading the way.
