Dennis D. Jacobs is an award-winning journalist and avid traveler. His byline has appeared in scores of publications, including the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Des Moines Register, and the Northwest Herald of suburban Chicago. He is the author of the book "More or Less Loess."

Dennis began his writing career at the age of 16, when he became the first sportswriter for his hometown newspaper, the Forum of Denver, Iowa. He honed his writing skills at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Communication Arts.

Following college, Dennis worked for radio and television stations in Iowa before returning to his first love, sportswriting, in the 1990s. His quality work was recognized by the Iowa Newspaper Association with multiple awards for both sports and news writing, as well as special section design.

With the newspaper industry in a state of crisis, Dennis finally decided to join the 21st Century in 2009, writing an international travel column for examiner.com in Chicago and contributing to several other websites.
