Last weekend I was lucky enough to attend a French wedding. So I was all for sharing this photo of a gorgeous croquembouche. This French dessert is a cone shaped composition of choux pastry balls bound with caramel. its name is derives from the phrase ‘croque en bouche’ meaning something that crunches in the mouth. This sweet treat is thought to have been invented at the turn of the 19th century by Antonin Carême, known as one of the earliest internationally renowned celebrity chefs.
