Letter from the President

By Karen Fawcett
I want to get back to answering more "Ask Karen" questions.  So many of our readers have come to know me personally. But I fear that many new readers see the title "President" and think "hands off!"  Au Contraire!  Write.  Ask questions.  I want to hear from you.  karen@bonjourparis.com.

I'm happy to announce that Sarah Gilbert Fox is very much on board. Bonjour Paris couldn’t do without her and I've promised her more time to work on her next novel (meanwhile, her husband, William Price Fox -- also another one of our writers -- has just had his new book Satchel Paige's America listed by the Library Journal as one of the top books to read this year).

Sarah's told me she wants more articles from our readers, because, she says, "They’re really better writers than most professional ones because they love France so much."  If you have an idea, please drop her line: sarah@bonjourparis.com

France is not on fire.  The Euro has stabilized a bit.  While it’s still high and the dollar still struggles, they appear to be on the path towards meeting in the middle.  That's good news. Our writers try their hardest to share tips about how to stretch travel funds. And please register for the forum http://bonjourparis.ipbhost.com/
and ask questions to your hearts’ delight.

Our Premium Membership only gets better.  This year we are offering premium subscribers thousands of dollars worth of discounts and will be adding more in upcoming months. See the REAL Europe with Rail Europe These discounts are ones you'll want to use.

My husband and I've just returned home from an around the world trip. We mainly focused on Asia.  We were away more than a month and learned so much in India, China and Japan. It was a life changing trip. We gathered so many insights and were exposed to so much. It makes me more convinced than ever that travel is more than just a trip. It’s a way to establish global understanding. In the final analysis, I can say that even though I love to travel and have a passion for Asia, France is very much my home and one of the best places in the world to live as well as to visit.

To each and every one of you, warm wishes for a happy and healthy new year. May there be peace and prosperity throughout the world. …and hope to see you in France.

Warm Regards & Happy Holidays

    Dear All:

Rest assured I've requested larger typeface! I'd like to see what you write ... as well as what I write! Reminds me of when I went to see the optometrist complaining of not being able to see the print. He asked my age. After he heard my response, he replied, "Welcome to 40," That was so many years ago, I can hardly remember (:

Thank you for bringing me up to date as I have been having difficulty logging in. I love to hear of your travels. The type is a bit small for my old eyes too. Madge

really not a comment on the article, but on your new format -- i like it a lot, but want to ask if you couldn't use a larger typeface -- what you've used too difficult to read! particularly when your eyes are as old as mine! -- wait, you'll see!

When I saw the title "Letter from the President" I knew it wasn't from W and expected it was from Jacques and wondered what this joker had to say. But then I saw it was from our exalted leader Karen and enjoyed her words of wisdom. Looking forward to the "new" BP and expanding our vistas.
