Louvre at nightNovember is full of excellent opportunities to take in the culture available in the City of Light!  The Monet exhibit is right on track to break attendance records – the show is already sold out through the first week of December. Couple this with the other fantastic events on the agenda and you will be hard pressed to find a better European city to visit this time of year! J’adore Paris!!

Opera, Ballet and Theatre Performance

Palais Garnier

Pacquita – Choreographer Pierre Lacotte, through November 7th

This ballet is set in Napoleonic Spain and tells the story of Pacquita, a young girl raised by gypsies only to realise she is of noble birth in the end and able to marry the man of her dreams.

Hamburg Ballet,  Choreographer John Neumeier, November 12th through the 16th

Guest company at the Paris Opera, the Hamburg Ballet will present Parsifal – Episodes and Echo.

Swan Lake, Choreographer Rudolf Nureyev, opens November 29th

Tchaikovsky’s first and most famous ballet takes the Opera Garnier through the holiday season.  The show will run through January 5th.

Opéra Bastille

Le Nozze de Figaro – Conductor Philippe Jordan (A) and Dan Ettinger (B), October 26th through June 11th 2011

An opera buffa in four acts, this is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at his best.

Mathis der Maler, Conductor Christoph Eschenbach, November 16th through December 6th

Written by Paul Hindemith, this opera in seven scenes focuses on works by Matthias Grunewald, in particular his piece, Isenheim Altarpiece.

Paris Antiques Fair at Place de Bastille

4-14 This antiques fair brings antique dealers from all over France for its biennial brocante.  The fair is held at Place de Bastille.

Benefit Concert for Solar Energy in Africa

Paris Auction: Madame G. and Her Haute Couture: An américaine in Paris
