If you are out to score some bargains, now is the time. I have never seen so many discounts in the Paris sales. I had promised myself I would buy nothing but cracked and bought to really nice sweaters: silk and cashmere == @ 16 Euros. That was a reduction of 70%. Wow. I am trying not to "walk the streets" when the stores are open. I suspect retail here is in for a hard time unless you're very rich.
Stacy --thanks for the good idea. I bet some stores are going to have sales that are real sales this year. I've sometimes have asked for an extra 10% discount and have gotten it. The sale people can only say no. Be certain you pose the question with a big smile on your face !!!
My budget being what it is, I haven't been out shopping enough to answer that question! :) There do seem to be a lot of "promotions", though.

Here's a tip: If there are particular stores you like, go to their web sites and see if they have a newsletter or mailing list. Some stores send their subscribers special offers that aren't available to the general public.
Well - -about time people don't have to keep guessing. Stacy - with the economy being what it is, are you finding there are more "promotions" than before??

From now on, the big winter and summer sales will begin on the same days every year and last for five weeks.

The beginning dates will be
Winter: 2nd Wednesday of the year
Summer: Third Wednesday of June

Thus, the next winter sales will begin on January 7, 2009.
