Our cats' favorite toy is a laser light. You can find them in pet stores in the US; don't know about la belle France.
Kitty apears to be addicted to anything made of wire. She loves chewing through cell phone cords, etc. Watch me run!

I've now given her a pipe-cleaner in hopes of appeasing her. On verra.
Not to Worry, I DO SMOKE NOT!

Another thing, a bamboo or other type stick; tie strong string at the end and tie something solid and you have a cat fishing pole they love it as you dangle it in front of them
"my cat loved an empty pack of cigarettes"

Tsk,tsk, not a healthy environment for a cat to grow up in. Nor for adults. wink.gif

Th best toy my cat loved was an empty pack of cigarettes all scrunched up!

Now that's one I've never tried! Funny how they always seem to go for the simple and ordinary things: the plastic milk jug ring... the cellophane candy wrapper... a crumpled bit of paper... a shoelace.

But among all my cats, with all their different temperaments and personalities, I found two or three toys that were pretty much tried and true for everyone. Cat Dancer was the leader, an unequivocal universal favorite.

They are strange creatures, those little furballs! laugh.gif

Paris’s pampered pets now have their own department store: BHV has just opened BHV La Niche (42, rue de la Verrerie, 75004 Paris.... wub.gif

Thank you, thank you. I forgot all about this thread until I stumbled across it again just now. I'll have to see if I can get over to La Niche in the next day or two to check it out.

I'm currently cat-sitting, and this little furball could use some more entertainment. What I would REALLY like to find is the original Cat Dancer (http://www.catdancer.com/catdancer.htm). Has anyone ever come across it in France, or am I going to need to order it from the US?

I went over to Miaou Waou on rue de la Croix Nivert and chatted with a very nice lady (owner? employee? I do know that there's more than one Miaou Waou location...) about cat toys in France versus in the US and about the attitudes of each country's citizens toward their pets--as opposed to the more indulgent US owners, the French are apparently not inclined to spend a lot of money on pet toys, which leads to a much smaller selection of items. Interestingly, she told me that, much as in the fashion world, the cat toys also are seasonal, with (if I recall correctly) about five different collections per year. In other words, if you see something you want now, you'd better buy it because it's not guaranteed to be there forever!

I went into the new BHV pet boutique last week-it's next door to the new men's store. The pet store is pretty cool, with a lot of new and creative carriers, among other items.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM ... I showed Kitty the web site. She's already lobbying for the carriage so I could push her. Lyla would like one too.

Ah these French ...

Sigh ...

In looking at the pictures, I'm tempted to check it out even though I don't have a pet!

Personally, I think Lyla and Kitty should both write books...

Why am I not surprised? People spend more on their pets than they do on (some) children. We should open a Bonjour Paris pet store. Game? Lyla and Kitty would receive the clients. (Grrrrrrrrr)
