Paris’s pampered pets now have their own department store: BHV has just opened BHV La Niche (42, rue de la Verrerie, 75004 Paris....

Thank you, thank you. I forgot all about this thread until I stumbled across it again just now. I'll have to see if I can get over to La Niche in the next day or two to check it out.
I'm currently cat-sitting, and this little furball could use some more entertainment. What I would REALLY like to find is the original Cat Dancer (
http://www.catdancer.com/catdancer.htm). Has anyone ever come across it in France, or am I going to need to order it from the US?
I went over to Miaou Waou on rue de la Croix Nivert and chatted with a very nice lady (owner? employee? I do know that there's more than one Miaou Waou location...) about cat toys in France versus in the US and about the attitudes of each country's citizens toward their pets--as opposed to the more indulgent US owners, the French are apparently not inclined to spend a lot of money on pet toys, which leads to a much smaller selection of items. Interestingly, she told me that, much as in the fashion world, the cat toys also are seasonal, with (if I recall correctly) about five different collections per year. In other words, if you see something you want now, you'd better buy it because it's not guaranteed to be there forever!
