As far as returning the car, Nice is a good place, The airport is just minutes from the city by cab or car. A very nice airport. If you return in Cannes, and you want to take a plane (to Paris or wherever) you have to take tyhe bus to Nice as there is no airport in Cannes for commercial Aviation.

We would like to have a car for over a month that we pick up in Paris, Charles De Gaulle Airport and then drive it through Burgundy and Provence down to Cannes. We will be returning car to Nice Airport or in city of Cannes.
Is it best to do rent and if so what company gives best rates for over 30 day rentals.
I know there is another option to buy and sell back a new car. Has anyone had any experience with this? Which is cheapest and what recommendations do you have re insurance if your own car insurance does not cover cars in Europe and you hold American Express gold card that may be of some help.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
