Mimi - Beats me BUT -- it may be slang for cigarettes. Does anyone else have an idea?
Bonjour,
Oui, oui, c'est de l'argot/it's slang for "une cigarette". A "cibiche" is also given as a synonym for "une/la clope"..., but it is old-fashioned :
- "clope [!]/ klOp / nom masculin ou f fag[!] GB, ciggy[!], cigarette." (Oxford-Hachette" dico online)
In my "Harrap's Slang" dico, one finds :
- cigarette*end, fag-end, cigar butt, cig(gy)"
Cordialement.
PS (Oct. 19th) : one also uses the term "une sèche" when speaking about cigs, fags... Hmm, by the way, when using the term "fag", I of course refer to the BRITISH slang term, not to the offensive American slang term...
