This past spring I booked a firstclass week-long cruise with Uniworld from Paris to Honfleur (and daily stops inbetween). The crew and kitchen were French and the only thing wrong with the cruise was that it was cancelled and the itinerary discontinued.

week through Burgundy. Excellent service, accommodations, staff. Next time though, I would opt for a French or French-trained chef.

I can't imagine why!
We enjoyed a barge trip on a Dutch vessel leaving from Auxerre and continuing a week through Burgundy. Excellent service, accommodations, staff. Next time though, I would opt for a French or French-trained chef.
Has anyone taken the Guinguettes day cruise to Bry-Sur-Marne? I've made reservations for 5/28 and am curious to know more.

Boy am I losing it ...

(Lost it?)

Bonjour Paris offers some excellent barge trips.

Why did I get the idea that someone only wanted a day trip??
Maybe I am out of the issue??? I would think anyone is interested to cruise on river and canal hiring a boat??
There are many cruises in Burgundy, hiring boat for one week or more.
Connoisseur is a renter that has very extensive river system here.
Have a look at http://www.connoisseurafloat.com/country.html?country=FRA
This alternative is quite different from "Bateau-mouche" on the Seine or barge, insinuating you sail yourself!
There was an article in the Travel section of the February 1, 2004 New York Times on a barge trip through Burgundy that was very good. Also listed was a website for barge trips for other areas of France: www.fcwl.com.
This is an extremely nice DAY barge trip.

There aren't that many.

Guinguette cruise on the Seine and Marne Rivers
"In the guinguettes country" A one day cruise, from Paris to Bry-sur-Marne and back again to Paris.

The nicest barge trips are on the canals in Burgundy and the Canal du Midi. A Google search should bring up a number of listings.
[B]Anyone!!
Looking for a barge trip on a canal (not the Bateau Mouche on the Seine). Perhaps the Marne River. Can anyone help?
