Capitalism is the engine that allows for freedom.
Socialism derives its money, via force, from those that work.
Not an opinion, a fact.

To MY opinion, it's just your opinion.

And being poor initofitself doesnt assure misery and more than wealth assures happyness.

This is usually what wealthy people like to say.

And how ironic that France , the left of the lefts would deny a female, a highly qualified PERSON from having a position because of gender.

I wouldn't pretend that Mme Royal gender didn't help her defeat (nobody can), but any observer in France could say that Sarkozy campaign was much better than hers. From the beginning of the campaign, Sarkozy was his party’s obvious leader, he had a clear program, didn’t change it every other day, giving him a statute that Mme Royal failed to develop.

Not meant so much as a" French bash" as much of a statement that laws DONT AND IN FACT CANT CHANGE HEARTS OR MINDS.

Sometimes, laws have to be voted to change minds, and surprisingly it works.

QUOTE
Commonsense MUST be what rules or we vanish.

What is commonsense? Commonsense is the main cultural way of thinking of a population, and it can be bent by charismatic leaders.

"Commonsense" teaches fanatic people that it's right to kill those who don’t believe in the same God, or who don’t believe in it the right way.

“Commonsense” told the German that the cause of their problems was Jews.

“Commonsense” tells Russians that Poutine is the best leader ever.

"Commonsense" makes you call "nazis" people who just think that liberalism must be sometimes controlled to prevent countries from collapsing just like Argentina did 10 years ago, dragging thousands of people to poverty.

“Commonsense” is what you summon when you find nothing else to support your opinion.

“Commonsense” is a double false friend, it is not as common as one might think, and it has nothing to do with sense.
Wait... there is more than simply black and white!

I am baffled by the previous two answers ...

Capitalism is the engine that allows for freedom.
Socialism derives its money, via force, from those that work.
Not an opinion, a fact.

What do we call people or groups of people who through force obtain goods and/or services????

Nazis/ socialists/thieves/thugs etc

Poor people need help.
Then those that are willing to help should help and not through laws via the point of a gun TRY AND SHOW THEIR HUMANITY.

Stop the welfare mentality or the acceptance of it, I should say, and you will then see who really needs help and the "cadillac welfare queens and parasites will be exposed.

Until then expect the poor to continue to be left out of the beauty that is life.

And being poor initofitself doesnt assure misery and more than wealth assures happyness.

There are just as many corrupt people who are poor as there who are wealthy.
That will never abate no matter what "ism" is in charge.
So since that too is a fact, why not choose the "ism" that is more likely to bring wealth/freedom.

Capitalism

That is actually a beautiful story!!

And how ironic that France , the left of the lefts would deny a female, a highly qualified PERSON from having a positoin because of gender.

Not meant so much as a" French bash" as much of a statement that laws DONT AND IN FACT CANT CHANGE HEARTS OR MINDS.

Commonsense MUST be what rules or we vanish.

Once again, a Must read

That should make "W" happy...
He now has a "little lap dog" to replace Blair...
I feel for the looming war in Iran, as I did for the war in Iraq...
Not a single drop of French blood, nor one single Euro for W and the "Neo Cons"...
OK I am out of here...
Sans rancune...
