Migrating to our New Site

But PLEASE EVERYONE - post messages in other parts of the site. E.G. the articles and favorite places!!
Message boards are so susceptible to spamming and life is too short!!! to cut and delete and look at pics of Paris Hilton in compromising positions.

Thank you for your sweet words about my mother. I know she's in a "better place" than being locked in her own mind and not being able to express herself. Mother was very special and would have died had she seen herself ... Al - you met her. Are you d'accord?

Well, the screen name attempt sort of worked... I'm actually Minette, not Minette x2! The only way I figured out how to change was to change my account profile which only has fields for first and last name, but no UserID or anything like that to update. :( <--- Sad face test. Oh well, there are bigger problems in life...

Are email addresses shown anywhere? I wanted to send an email to Karen but I can't locate any addresses.
By the way, I think I am going to Paris on 9/17 thru 9/26! YAY! Hoping to be able to drop in and post while there. OK, smiley test! :)

Please check the RRS feed. The tech people promised me that they'd establish notifications .... as a result, I am not a happy camper.

Karen, I signed up for notifications. Question. . .will the board always be alphabetical? In other words, if someone posts to a topic farther down the alphabet, you don't see it unless you purposely scroll down. I'm totally open to change, but it still seems that the other board was a lot easier to follow. . .

Mara......I'm with you. I sent an email to "support@bj"asking when are they going to answer questions that have been asked or hinted about and the answer was that they weren't ready....after a couple of months or more. I would assume that the powers that B have big problems and the formats of the new forum are not adaptable to what we all are looking for.

Thanks Al for posting that info about the RSS feed. That will make things a bit easier. Unfortunately I am finding this board pretty difficult. I've been on other boards that have migrated to new ones before but this one seems like it's making things much harder. For one thing, it seems like I have to log on each time - before I stayed logged on.

In the posting I just made I composed it in two paragraphs and even worse it did not leave a normal word space at the junction it created. This is going to be quite undesirable if one posts a long item and especially if one is creating a list.

I discovered and answer to a question raised here and one I asked support@bonjourparis. To see a list of current postings when one first gets to the Forum Topic List,click on RSS.

I can see that one of the big problems in this new format is that in order to achieve the relatively easy flow we were used to in the old it has created a click here click there method.......

I posted a few observations and suggestions on this thread and questions(which was requested) and don't seem to get any answers, Miles.

Okay, this is my punishment for being away. I've been traveling and voila, I feel like I'm in time warp! I must say, this is going to take some getting used to!

I did have a good laugh when I saw my screen name w hen I posted on the Washington, DC luncheon thread, though. PP-touchrigid is me, ellencmog. Karen/Miles, how do I change my user name back to what it used to be on the new site? Also, how do I get my photo to appear? I'm not sure the rest of the world is ready for that, but just in case I decide to use it. . .

Other than the powers that be, I only see Stacy and myself making our presence known. Come on the!!!! The water is great!!

Yes, we realize the have topic "sprawl" with the new format and will be cleaning them up once the other transition issues are resolved. Thanks for the feedback.

In the old forum the topics were not listed alphabetically but accordingly grouped into like catagories....so instead of searching thru over a hundred topics there were probably barely a dozen catagories to zip thru.

Can one do a "quote" to start off a reply?
