Know all about that, Knowing that is the problem. I get NY time with all my postings but got Paris time as Mike is explaining. However, that is the least of our problems. I dont have any problems with Fidelity until the quotes. Gimmie good quotes and the hell with the time.

I think there's an option to set your time zone in your personal settings under My Controls.

AH -- The discussion board is NOT the site. Bonjour Paris has bought the "best" and it's by no ways perfect.

I just accessed the Fidelity Investments site and it's down. Cyber space isn't always perfect. Wish that it were.

do you get the same experience as I do re the time. I get Paris time instead of the 6 hour difference. Karen (in Paris) gets the same time as Paris.

Please, re-read what I wrote about the two different dates shown when you "turn on" the forum web site.
Look at the dates of your last visit and compare them:
1) When you are still signed in, or
2) If you must sign in anew
And, if your computer works like mine, you will see what I was trying to explain...
To me, it indicates that the December 1, 2007 date is the "glitch" that is causing all the problems... Possibly a lost "cookie" somewhere, that's what I was trying to say and see if anyone had made the same observation...

Cap'n........a bit confused. It is my understanding that a web site "spews"cookies on a PC to recognize that PC (sort of like a male puppy that lifts its leg) and what ever advantage that recognition results in. When I removie cookies and files as you do (but not every week) I find that all places do not recognize me and I have to resign in for recognition.

As for BP I only find myself logged in after I sign in and it stays logged in only for that moment.

Further discoveries...
I hate to keep rehashing this problem, but if it can be of any help, here is something else I have discovered...
1) If, I have to log in, I notice that the date of my last visit is correct...
2) However, if I am still logged in, the date of my last visit always revert to December 1, 2007...
I still believe that there is some darn "cookies" somewhere that are causing this problem on some of the forum participants' computer... mine included even though I clean up my hard drive of all "cookies" and "Temporary Internet Files" every week...
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Just curious...

Funny, but it is starting to work well today. One thing that throws one off is that the time is Paris time and there is a 6 hour difference when I look.

Ironically, it logged me in to read your post this morning! I'll look at the dates the next time I have to sign in, though. Thanks for the suggestion.

It just did it again...

Yes, the quotes showed up but scroll down a bit and it didn't work correctly.

Talking about unexplained events on the PC, just yesterday on my 2 yr old Dell desk top the keyboard acted strangely. All was going well until I typed a word that used the same key twice in a row and it caused a freezing. ie book stopped at bo and froze as did backspace.....but the other keys still worked.
I had a policy with Dell (cheap as hell) ,called them up and from the Phillipines they took over my PC with their own mouse. Their service is fantastic and will spend any amount of time. They downloaded Spybot software and did a search and destroy mission on what was a load of spyware and took a while....but it worked. I never realized that spyware acted like a virus. And they left me the software on my desk top.

Oh no... Sacré bleu... Last Night I dreamed that I was the Captain of the "Titanic"...
Could this be an omen regarding the BP Forum?

Speaking of things that don't make sense, I had a dream last night that I was on a date with Eric Clapton. How's THAT for technology?

I mean, if our brains can still do whacky things when "we're not looking," why not computers? After all, we humans have been around for a long, long time, yet still, we get these phenomenal short films while we're sleeping AND we even watch 'em when we're sleeping... cool!

I'll never know why Clapton's hair was blond in my dream (nor why I was with him in the first place) just as I'm not gonna know why when i sometimes knock on this BP door, I can't get in.

Trying to tie my Clapton dream into BP and something, anything to do with France -- the best I can muster is that he was once hooked up with Sarkozy's latest hook-up, Carla Bruni.

And yes, I agree that at our advanced age that 20 seconds can make a difference...

I know you were not complaining Ellen, and although I pass it up as a joke, I also get very frustrated with my electronic companions (I am a computer bigamist) and both of them have more problems than Carter's got little pills...

Don't get me wrong, Mike, I'm not complaining. It's just that I don't understand the elusive world of computers and can find no rhyme or reason as to why it decides to let me in one moment and not the next. It's one of those mysteries that I'll probably never fully comprehend. . .like many other technological wonders. . . Gotta love it!
