STG, La Table de Fabrice looks fine to me--and I'm always happy to be led to a new restaurant. Its menu, if it still is 40 euro (vin non compris), is a little above the price point we were setting, but that's no problem to me.

No problem for me either (though, if possible, I'd prefer not to go any higher). The restaurant sounds like a good choice, from the looks of the menu and St. Germain's recommendation as well as other comments I've read on the internet.

Looking forward to it...
Since some people are having trouble registering for the discussion board, PLEASE send all RSVP's to:

BPGetTogether@aol.com

Please list your name, contact telephone number and how many people will be attending the event!

Merci.
Re the cost - perhaps we could ask the restaurant to offer a more limited menu! ????

This get together is going to happen.

St. Germain, where are your restaurant suggestions?

If we do decide on Fabrice, STG, since you seem to be known to the management, would you take over making the reservation? (I think we might wait a few more days to be sure there are no other suggestions and to be sure of our numbers.)

Best,

Marc

Marc - I doubt that I am "known" to the management. But, in any event, given the number of people it would be better to do something soon, if that is where we end up going, and I will not be there until March 16th.

This GTG was always going to happen, Karen. Never fear. But I like the way excitement is growing.

Dear Jackie:

Welcome to Bonjour Paris. As Al said, we're on for the 21st. Any chance you could change your plans?
Jackie.......final plans are not made yet as we await some idea of how many will attend. This could affect where we have it. One thing is definite. It will be held on March 21st which does not seem to be good for you. Sorry.

Was there any question?

And who might Renee Bussiere be?

Renee Bussiere has emailed and wants to join us! This get together is going to happen.

St. Germain, where are your restaurant suggestions - STP ?

Merci!

La Table de Fabrice, 13, quai de Tournelle; 01.44.07.17.57 is my principal recommendation. It has an upstairs that could accommodate us and the menu is the right price.

Up to this point I've been hesitating to say yes in part because of the food selection (would greatly prefer fish as I'm not much of a meat eater) and also due to price concerns... but Karen's suggestion of around 35 euros plus wine would be fine by me, and a fish dish or two would be a big plus.

Stacy - that's super! It's been too too long!!

Thanks! I would have preferred to wait to meet folks until after I slimmed down a bit (have gained a ton of weight during my stay in the US, grrr), but life goes on and I'm not going to let something like that stop me.

All the more reason for the fish... laugh.gif

Je suis desole. I will be unable to attend. I wish you much enjoyment!

St. Germain: that would be a problem for me as well. What do people think regarding the price? I'd like to keep the dinner at approx 35 Euros per person. I suspect wine would have to be extra

I agree with the price point. I would also like to avoid the ladies lunch act in paying the bill..."I had the tuna fish and diet coke" wink.gif which can easily be done with a place that has a good formule with lots of choices.
QUOTE
My biggest concern about Ambassade is that it only has one fish dish and some among us, like my wife, may have a hard time. So, if we can decide on a price range I could make some other suggestions.

I hope we can find a place where we may have a corner where we can talk and meet one another!

Are others d'accord??

Hi Al and all,

Wow, this is shaping up to be an Event. I've been silent because I'm out of town, and my internet capabilities are much reduced. But as soon as I'm back (March 2), I'll get right on final preparations.

If we're still thinking Ambassade as our 1st choice, I don't think the numbers we've got (and even a few more) will be any problem. I don't know, though, whether at that point they may want to place us under their group category, with fixed costs and fixed menu choices. Those aen't bad either. I'll check all this out in a little over a week. If we'd rather go somewhere else, now is the time for suggestions.

Best,

Marc

Welcome Serenah.Glad to have you aboard. I think we will hold off on the details as this makes 9 and counting. Must make the place fit those coming.
