laugh.gif You guys are a hoot! And so much fuss over a little avatar! rolleyes.gif I'm testing out my inventory to see which I like most. This one seems to have taken on a new life of its own! cool.gif

A little "geek" lesson for our (hrumph) more "distinguished" members... tongue.gif

Scroll down the page to the BP group shot.

RIGHT click on the image (a small window with options will appear, unless you're using a MAC)

Select the word "properties" (a small window will appear with some geeky information about the photo)

You'll see the words "Address/URL" with a URL (web address) next to it. If you "wanted" to put that picture in a posting on the forums, you would simply "copy" and "paste" the URL (web address) into the box that appears when you click on the botton that says "IMG"

In other words, you cannot put an image from your computer on the forum, UNLESS it is currently sitting on a web page somewhere, with a web address attached to it.

How translate you?

The question would be better said...How would you translate?

The other....if you would put your army(or military) hat on your head...

If you would cap your casquette, maybe nobody would find difference smile.gif
Dear Mike...

Seriously, did you include the BP get together photo in your Website?
If not, how did you get it re-posted?

My procedure:
1- Save the picture BP GTG on my hard-disc.
2- Include the BPers names
3- Upload picture on my website with my provider Wanadoo(it is not visible on a particular page..)
4- Under function IMG in BP Boards, to specify my url...
As you see, it's very easy, no?? biggrin.gif

Are you sure you want to show EVERYTHING on BP forums Marcel?
We are all anxiously awaiting

Be tranquil, Mike! I am not intent on divulging all your compromising documents reaped since 6 years rolleyes.gif
Thank you Al, a very strong possibility indeed...
It will be referred to as multiple choice answer number 5 wink.gif

It appears that the arm showing is twirling her knickers(removed) while the unseen arm is holding on to the curtain at the corner of the stage.

That's what WE all want to know mein Herr Flugzeugführer huh.gif
The photo of the reunion is a nice touch indeed, and it would be nice to be able to see the smilling faces of all our BP Friends...Recent photos only of course cool.gif
AL
The post from PitterPat confirms that currently, only the Admin are able to upload the pictures on BP Boards.
To me, I have my own Website allowing me to shown everything on BP wink.gif

Yes Al, we definitely want all the juicy stuff tongue.gif
We also want to know about youg Lady PitterPat's new (somewhat bizarre) Avatar.
Mon Dieu what is it?
Let's look at all the possibilities:
1) A French accordionist at a street corner? unsure.gif
2) Janet Jackson practicing for an encore presentation? ph34r.gif
3) Dolly Parton emulating Janet, for a "Shock and Awe" presentation at the opening of the 2004 Tour de France? laugh.gif
4) A revival of the 70s removal of certain Lady's clothing item? cool.gif
Please select the most logical answer...
Inquiring mind want to know...

PS: Mimi, when you have an 'aside question' you can write a personal message to me. No need to hijack an ongoing thread.

And then deny us all of the real juicy stuff??
QUOTE
Well... I didn't *really* do it.. I emailed the image to our webmistress in SC and she "did" it.

Couldn't you email it to yourself and paste from there??
Well... I didn't *really* do it.. I emailed the image to our webmistress in SC and she "did" it. biggrin.gif

Basically, the image you wish to show in your forum post needs an URL (web link) to it. Once you have the weblink, then you simply paste it into your text. Of course, it would be MUCH easier if we could upload from our computers, but I don't know who is in charge of making that happen. huh.gif

I am dubious

Mon cher Dubious....wouldn't it be simple if PittiPat told us how she did it?
AL...
By >Help/Topics, we read:
"If the admin has enabled it, you will also see a file attachments option, this will allow you to attach a file to be uploaded when making a post. Click the browse button to select a file from your computer to be uploaded. If you upload an image file, it may be shown in the content of the post, all other file types will be linked to.
Then, it is probable that this function in not enabled???
I am in agreement with you, maybe "the admin" would notify how transfer your image ohmy.gif
Meanwhile, I am surprised seeing the group-photo posted by Pitterpat under the url: http://www.bonjourparis.com/images/group.gif . That means that the function is available... I am dubious mad.gif
QUOTE (cigalechanta @ May 1 2004, 01:59 PM)
Who is who there? And which one is our AL?

Well, Mimi, you must have figured it out by now. No comment? I'm afraid to ask. Should have kept quiet while I was ahead.
And when are we going to find out how you transposed the image to the posting???
Please.
QUOTE
...I cant find it...

Al,
You must go to page 2 and scroll down (or back in date). biggrin.gif
It's still there. wink.gif
QUOTE
Glad you all like the picture....

Want to look at the picture again and I cant find it. Can somebody help me?
Al's wife is named Joyce and it's good I remembered. I think the photo is great but I dont see tge explaination of how it was transposed to the postings. We have had such a long discussion of how it cant be done by so many experts so now we must get the way.
Lara, welcome back! It is nice to hear from you after along silence. We all missed you! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

BP Chuck
What a wonderful photo! How I wish I could have been there, but I am glad to at least be back on-line! Phyllis, you do look different with your hair up (plus, I'm used to seeing you smiling)! Ursula, Kirsten is an American. I believe she is from California. She moved to France about the time I moved home and she writes for BP.
Oh, what wonderful news, Jean.

I am really looking forward to Lara's coming back soon! smile.gif
