I agree. mimi, that it's a great novel. Best I read this year, too. Apparently, though, Barbery was not happy with the film adaptation, which is being advertised as "inspired by the novel. . . ."
I read a description of her first novel, which sounds very clever. When I make it back to Paris, next month, I intend to pick it up. If it lives up to expectations, I'll post.
