I read that!
Way back at that time, I went to visit Big Sur and some of the Esalen staff would come over for drinks where I and friends were staying nearby at the Ventana Inn.
I can still hear Primal screams

Al: Diane has always written reviews for the NY Times. The newspaper pays well and there's a lot of prestige associated with it..
As for the subject, the Esalen years were extremely interesting.
