I must have posted this elsewhere but the French will start manufacturing biometric passports next month in conjuntion with another country that has the technology. What a relief it will be!

Thank goodness... although it won't be quickly enough:

The professionals of tourism affirm that the incapacity of France to manufacture in time the type of passports required by Washington represents a loss of "35 %" of the tourist traffic, that is to say 500 million euros of sales turnover over one year. The French tour operators, brought together Thursday, invited "to mobilize themselves" if biometric passports were not quickly available in France.

Apparently, the production of biometric passports in France has been suspended today.

Oppppss .. passport control. And there was a line for EU and a seperate one for US citizens. I didn't see a line for those with passports that qualify for neither group.

Was it customs or passport control? The last few times through (terminal 2) outgoing passport control I saw one line for EU and another for everybody else. Were the EU and US together or did the US have a window of its own?

For Americans entering France:
