Musée du Parfum
When she came to Paris, my mother’s only goal was to buy perfume. Indeed, the French are skilled in the art of making fragrances, which are displayed in the Perfume Museum of Paris, run by the perfumerie Fragonard. Opened in 1983, this museum traces the history of perfumery objects starting with the ancient Egyptians within a 19th century Napoleon III townhouse. The décor parallels the connotations of perfumery—elegance and refinement. You can, of course, buy the Fragonard fragrance from the boutique.
