Parc André Citroën

Just on the edge of the 15Vme, this charming and modern park is a wonderful detour for those in the area.  There are neat rows of trees, which provide perfect shelter for a picnic or a nap, and unusually-landscaped gardens to stroll between, and watch the occasional duck floating by in the manmade pools.  Two greenhouses look out on a large field, a favorite for families, with little jet fountains to play in on a hot day.  An environmentally-friendly hot air balloon is tethered in the middle of the field, and for several euros, you can go up for a ten minute ride above Paris.  Far from the beaten tourist path, the park is a great refuge for those weary of the crowded sightseeing circuit.
